ANDY FARBER'S AFTER MIDNIGHT ORCHESTRA
AFTER MIDNIGHT ORCHESTRA, directed by Andy Farber, is a swinging, seventeen-piece ensemble that began its life as the on-stage band for the hit Broadway musical After Midnight. It was on Broadway that the orchestra, made up of musicians hand-picked by Jazz At Lincoln Center artistic director Wynton Marsalis, backed up a succession of guest stars including Fantasia Barrino, K.D. Lang, Toni Braxton, Vanessa Williams and Patti LaBelle. Under the direction of composer, arranger, and saxophonist Andy Farber, the orchestra continues to perform and record beyond the Broadway run of After Midnight, including a PBS Great Performances television special that featured Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, a national TV commercial for American Express, and a nightclub appearances at New York City's famed Jazz Standard, and The Rainbow Room that featured Catherine Russell.
